Couples Therapy: Marital and Intimate Partnership Support

Marriage and Intimate Partnerships are one of the most sacred relationships that exist. Very often, it isn’t until both people are completely exhausted that they finally decide to allow an outsider to help. I applaud you for taking this very important step in maintaining the sacredness of your commitment to your partner, spouse, or mate.

Through Couples Therapy, I can help you identify the challenges you are facing your relationship and work to develop new patterns that will help eliminate these barriers to a calming love and intimacy that you both desire in a primary relationship. I am here to help you in a number of areas including but not limited to:

  • Development of effective and supportive communication between you and your partner.
  • Identifying and delegating of relationships roles and responsibilities.
  • Areas of challenge that exist outside of your relationship i.e. child-rearing, work-related, or extended family of origin issues.
  • Building back trust and lovingkindness as the central element in your relationship.

My approach to Couples Counseling is blended, often utilizing exercises and lessons from Imago framework and Attachment Theory to bring attention to awareness to how our childhoods have influenced the ways in which we give and receive love. I am warm, yet directive and will provide concrete activities for you both to try to build up teamwork and cooperation into the partnership. I am diplomatic and fair and promote open and honest communication within the therapy space and am available to my clients between sessions as needed.
